Assessments
Functional Capacity Assessments
One of our key services is the Functional Capacity Assessment (FCA) that helps us understand the unique needs of our clients and develop tailored solutions to overcome their barriers with the goal of guiding you towards increased independence and confidence. An FCA can specifically outline what support is required through the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
A functional capacity assessment involves completing a battery of assessment tools to determine an individual’s level of functioning in day to day living. This includes basic and instrumental activities of daily living. At Key Elements Health we respect that every individual is different and so too are the assessments we do. However, most assessments will include a detailed interview and observation of daily living tasks completed in the home, work or other suitable environment. There will be a mix of standardised, semi structured and non-standardised assessments based on the presenting issues. Timing can range, though they usually take a minimum of 3 hours.
Sensory Profile Assessments
Sensory profile assessments are designed to evaluate an individual’s sensory processing patterns. These assessments help us understand how sensory information is perceived and processed, which in turn influences behavior and learning. Utilising the renowned Sensory Profile as our primary assessment tool, we delve into the unique sensory experiences of each client, aiding in the development of tailored strategies to enhance daily functioning.
